Used vehicle warranty FAQs

  • Used vehicle warranty FAQs

Buying a used vehicle is a big purchase, and protecting that investment is a priority for anyone getting a new set of wheels. Knowing both mechanical and electrical faults are covered by a warranty policy if the unexpected happens can provide a lot of peace of mind.

Just as vehicles are carefully chosen, a warranty provider should be too, and opting for a trusted team like Warranty First makes all the difference for our dealer partners and for their customers.

Here are some frequently asked questions about our policies, and working with Warranty First…

Why get a warranty in the first place?

Any vehicle can develop a fault, and both parts and labour can add up to a very expensive repair, the likes of which it’s difficult to budget for. Taking out a warranty on a used car protects against this hefty cost, and at an already stressful time, it’s one less thing to worry about.

Is there a limit on the number of claims a policyholder can make?

No - As long as the cost of repairs doesn’t go higher than the market value of the vehicle.

Is there a mileage limit?

Clocking up the miles isn’t a problem with a policy from Warranty First - there’s no mileage limit. Yes, you read that correctly!

Do you cover wear and tear?

Yes, we do! Subject to T&Cs, wear and tear items such as wheel bearings are covered by our policies.

What if a part that isn’t covered by a Warranty First policy damages a part that is?

We honour consequential damage claims; something not many warranty providers offer.

Can you help with the inconvenience of having a car repaired?

If a vehicle covered by us needs attention and the policyholder is far from home, we can, where applicable, cover car hire, hotel and travel costs.

How can you help my dealership?

From a user-friendly online dealer portal to a dedicated account manager on hand to answer your questions, we tailor our support to you when you're a Warranty First Dealer Partner. We also provide Point of Sale materials and can train your team.

Do you need to inspect my stock if I come on board?

No - all we ask is that the latest service is in date and the vehicle has a current MOT.
